Some would call it a whisper. Maybe it’s some kind of second sight or intuition or a pink aura that we can’t see. Animals know it immediately, can read the micro expressions that most humans miss as we tear through our days and frenetic cell phone feeds. Horses get it. Long before you enter their space, they know who’s coming. This one loved Meredith - wanted to nuzzle her hair and be her new bestie and put on a big show. Didn’t care at all that we were running a photo shoot and were on a timeline. That’s ok, we work with whatever the day brings us, Wabi-Sabi and all that.

Truth is, we all wanted to be around Meredith. She’s warm and smiley and genuinely just glad you are here sharing some time together. No wonder the animals can tell. It radiates from her heart, makes you want to sit and talk and tell and feel better than you did before. Some people have it, this kind of gift.

In this arena, the work is called Equestrian Sports Psychology Coaching. This is what Meredith does, working with riders to train their mindset muscles to reduce anxiety and frustration and instead embrace joy and confidence. It’s not the kind of career you could fake….like I said, the horses could spot a phony from far away. Her work straddles the bridge between humans and horses, both intricately complicated creatures that need a solid and empathic guide. It’s beautiful to watch, really.

If you are a rider and are looking to transform your experience, reconnect with your sport and remember why you love it all so much, call her. It’s like spending a day in the sun.
