Somebody asked me recently why I named my business Wasabi. “I didn’t,” I told him, “I named it Wabi-Sabi. One is a horseradish sauce and the other is a way of living that embraces the beauty of life’s imperfections.”And that’s the thing. The whole entire point, really. I LOVE meeting people that live their narrative with an open heart. I’m not saying it’s easy, I know it’s vulnerable work. I’m saying that it’s worth it. And I love capturing it, your beautiful story with its beautiful cast of characters.
Momma opened the door for their photo session, out of breath and smiling, brushing blond hairs back from her eyes. “So sorry about the wait! When you rang the bell, I had the baby latched and couldn’t come answer the door and of course the dog had JUST tried eating a golf glove. Luckily it came back up so he’s good now, but we might need to find the lint roller before we start. What can we say.... this is real life, right? Anyway, come on in! We’ve been so excited for today, here she is!”
Wabi-Sabi, baby.
